Look in the Mirror

Mirror...mirror...on the wall...who's the fairest of them all?

It's often painful to look in the mirror. You see your mistakes, failures, shortcomings and blemishes. Many people hate looking in the mirror for this very reason.

But we must remember this.

"You're greatest leadership challenge is the

person you look at in the mirror."

It's true. I am reminded of this verse in 1 Timothy 4.

"Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers."

When we take an honest look in the mirror, it helps us see areas where we need to make improvements.

"We must first lead ourselves well if we are going to

effectively lead others well."

It can be painful looking in the mirror. But it can also be life-changing. As God reveals to us the areas where we can improve, it gives us the opportunity to step up and be a better leader and follower of Jesus.

Let me ask you something. How often do you look in the mirror? Every day? Every week? Every few months? Maybe more and maybe less?

I often think about this statement.

"Who you are is more important than what you do. If you will be who you are supposed to be, you will do what you are supposed

to do?"

The person you see in the mirror has a divine calling from God.

The person looking back at you in the mirror can do great things for God if you will trust Him.

The person looking back at you in the mirror is a child of God.

Nothing can separate you from His love.

In our own thoughts, we often feel like a total loser as we look into the mirror. And the accuser does what he does best, he accuses us and tries to bring us down.

To avoid this we need to follow and believe what Jesus says about us. He says...You are loved. You are cherished. You are strong in Christ. You are courageous. You are a child of God.

He wants to spend time with you in prayer each day. He sent you a text message called the Bible that explains how much he cares about you.
