The Power of Togetherness

You can go faster by yourself.  But you can go farther together.

Let me ask you a few questions.

Do you hesitate to give responsibilities away to other people on your team?

Is your ministry siloed from other ministries in your church?

Do you feel like you are in a competition with other ministries for people to join your team...even if your ministry is not a good fit for them?

Do you place people in roles that they are not gifted for just because you need someone in that role?

Do you seek to find ways to partner with other ministries in your church?

If any of these are the case for you, I want to challenge you to think about the power of togetherness.

You can be better when you go together.

Team work makes the dream work.

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.

As you navigate through the rest of your life, be open to collaboration. Other people and other people's ideas are often better than your own. Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.

Be open to collaboration. Other people and other people's ideas are often better than yours. Gather a group of people who challenge and inspire you.

Togetherness comes from collaboration.  Ego and self centeredness comes from pride.

Don't be a lone ranger. Be a person that helps people bond and morph into a team that conquers challenges and progresses together.

A good leader is powerful.  A great leader is empowering.

A good leader is a star.  A great leader creates stars.

Do you foster a sense of togetherness?

It takes togetherness to pull off a great VBS.

It takes togetherness to have thriving Easter services.

It takes togetherness to have an amazing camp experience.

Here are some steps you can take to bring the power of togetherness to your ministry.

  • Start talking"we" instead of "they."

  • Start talking "us" instead of "them."

  • Meet regularly with other ministries in your church. Initiate steps you can take to partner with other ministries in your church.

  • Show your appreciation for other ministries and people who are willing to partner with you.

  • Seek to bridge the gap between your ministry and other people or ministries.

  • Initiate unity.

Together...we can change the world!
