Share the Stories with Your Team


When you are leading a volunteer team, it's important to recognize and honor people who are serving.


All of us want to know that we are valued and that our work is meaningful.

One of the best ways to encourage and appreciate volunteers is to share the stories of the people they are impacting.


Did you know that 65% of volunteers have never personally heard the words "thank you?"


When was the last time you recognized a volunteer? As a leader, do you regularly share the stories of impact with them?


When you recognize and honor volunteers, they will be more engaged and committed to the vision of the ministry. It is so important that it needs to be part of your DNA...your culture.


Seek out good reports and compliments about volunteers from parents, other team members and kids. Gather the information and then present it to the volunteer in a creative way. You can also use your social media feeds to honor the person.


The stories you share about volunteers making a difference do not have to be elaborate. It simple needs to be meaningful to the person you are honoring.

One of the best things you can do for your volunteers is to recognize their heart for God and the kids and families they serve. Show them some love.

When you do this, you will put in motion a volunteer culture that encourages and blesses those who are serving.
