Christmas for Kids in the Midst of a Pandemic

Christmas is about to roll in. It's the first Christmas that will happen in the midst of a pandemic. Overall Christmas spending is expected to be down by 18%.

Experts say that parents will not spend as much money on the adults (spouse, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, grandparents, etc.) so they can use the money to purchase their children their usual amount of gifts.

Parents will try their best to keep this year's Christmas as normal as possible.

Since the pandemic hit, many parents have purchased toys that would keep their kids busy. Toys like puzzles, Legos, arts and craft supplies and board games. With all the closures and shutdowns, parents want to make sure their kids are still having fun, being entertained, etc.

Retailers have released a list of toys that will be hot sellers this Christmas.

Here are a few of these:

Retailers are saying people are shopping earlier this year and there are challenges of stores running out of these toys. One of the most sought-after toys this Christmas is Lego Super Mario Adventures. It lets kids build real-life versions of the video game levels.

Many of the toys that are purchased this year will be bought by parents seeking to get their kids off their phones and tablets (good luck with that).
