If you want to reach today's kids, then it is important to know the unique facts about their generation. This will allow you to better understand them and connect with them.

There are currently two generations of kids that you should study and know about.

Gen Z (kids born between 1997 and 2012)

Gen Alpha (kids born between 2013 and 2025)

Let's take a look at some interesting facts about today's kids.

1. They can get the answer to anything in less than a minute. Can anyone say "Hey, Siri?"

2. They can watch new release movies without ever leaving their house.

3. You can see all of their baby and childhood pictures online. Facebook and other similar apps are their family photo album.

4. The Alpha generation is the first generation to be born entirely in the 21st century.

5. They will never try to blow the dust out of a video game cartridge.

6. They have never seen a sign in a video store that says "Be Kind...Rewind."

7. Myspace. Enough said.

8. Not having TV available 24/7. At midnight, the TV channel would play the national anthem and then go static until the next morning. Today's kids have entire channels just for them and they are on 24/7.

9. If they miss a show on TV...no worries. They can watch it anytime they want with on-demand programming. Their parents and grandparents didn't have this option. If you missed a show, then you were out of luck.

10. As they grow up, they will rarely, if ever, write a check to pay for something. They will use wire transfers, direct deposits, online bill pay, etc. Going to the physical bank is a rare occasion.

11. Computer keys are used the majority of the time instead of writing things out by hand.

12. They will never have to read a map. Navigation apps on their phones guide them.

13. The majority will never use a landline phone to receive calls and make calls.

14. They have never slept on a waterbed.

15. Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? Who is Carmen Sandiego?

16. Floppy disks that could only hold a few mb's.

17. The joy of finding a new release movie when you go to Blockbuster. There were none on the shelf, but the manager found you one in the return bin.

18. Today's kids will never know the struggle of having to wait for your Netflix rental to arrive in the mail.

19. Today's kids will never hear the screeching sound when they are trying to connect to the internet.

20. Metal slides and merry-go-rounds at the park.

21. Having to use a pencil to rewind a cassette tape that got off track.

22. TV's that weighed a ton.

23. Rather than playing outside all day, they stay in the house and play video games.

24. They go to Google instead of the library when doing a research project for school.

25. They do not remember a time before the internet.
